Term 2 - Week 10

Welcome to Week 10,

This afternoon our students walked out the school gates for the last time this Semester. They walked out with their heads held high ready for their two week break. A holiday they deserve as they have committed to their learning by bringing their best version of themselves to school each day. Congratulations!

Term 2 has also been an incredibly busy term, highlighted by:

  • School and system based improvement utilising Lyn Sharratt’s 14 parameters
  • Blessed Edmund Rice’s Feast Day
  • Administration Appreciation day
  • Completing the Early Development Census
  • St Nicholas School Cross Country
  • Stage 3 Debating Competitions
  • Eisteddfod Performances
  • Dr Cameron Stelzer (Children's author) Workshops
  • Sue Larkey (Human Behavioural Expert) Workshops and Student Case Management
  • Collaborative Professional Development with the three other Tamworth Catholic Primary Schools
  • Celebrate Catholic Schools Week
  • The Tamworth Deanery Mass
  • Participation in the Gary McSweeney Cup: Rugby Union
  • Infants and Primary Open Classrooms
  • 80 Kindergarten 2025 Interviews
  • First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
  • Student Led Learning Conferences
  • Written Semester Reports
  • School Photos
  • Athletics Carnival
  • Participation in the Toni Palmer Shield: Rugby League Gala Day
  • Faith Formation Professional Development for Staff

Each of the events outlined help us develop a well rounded child. Without the correct structures and processes however, schools can be a great place of distraction and busy work. Rather than letting these events distract us, they have actually added to our core business of developing “literate and numerate students, with a foundation of a strong relationship with their God”.

Last Friday we celebrated our Athletics Carnival. It was wonderful to see such a high level of participation from our students and such great sportsmanship on display. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making it a successful day, but especially to Mrs Tyrrell and Mrs Maher.

I wish all our students a wonderful Semester break and look forward to seeing them back at school on Wednesday 24th July.
