ATHLETICS CARNIVAL 

STAGE 3 DIOCESAN DEBATING COMPETITION

This week our Stage 3 Debating Teams competed in Round 2 of the Armidale Diocesan Debating Competition. The topic for the debates for this round was "That Australia should introduce a tax on foods that are high in fats and/or sugar."

Team B debated yesterday as the negative team. Mia, Sophia, Lara and Lily all spoke convincingly and confidently. They delivered clear, cohesive arguments and were able to rebut the opposition's arguments. Unfortunately they were up against very tough competition in St Xavier's Gunnedah and did not come away with the win. 

Team A debated today against St Edward's primary school. Molly, Sara, Bailey and Nate also spoke confidently and convincingly, with well thought out arguments. They were awarded the winning team. 

It has been wonderful to watch all these debaters improve over the last 2 rounds, and I am excited to see them continue to shine in the latter part of the competition.
