Year 2 Respectful Relationships Term 2

This term students in Year 2 have been learning about positive coping strategies and problem solving. Throughout the first half of the term students identified emotions and used situational cues to help them empathise with others. They reflected on their own emotional responses as well as developing an awareness for the feelings and needs of others. To practise these skills students took part in various role play situations and structured play scenarios where they could interact with others. During the second half of the term students moved further into problem solving. They looked at understanding differences in points of view and recognising that there may be many different ways to solve a conflict. Students then used real world and imagined scenarios to explore different solutions for solving problems and what cooperative behaviours might be needed to help solve conflict.
