Dear Families,
As shared with you last term, when a student is spotted demonstrating one of our School Wide Expectations - Respect, Responsibility, Courtesy or Cooperation in the yard, the classroom or anywhere else in the school, a member of staff can write this down on a Gotcha slip. These are stored away for the special prize draws. These students are the ones that show our school wide expectations because it's the right thing to do.
Congratulations to the following students:
Other students who received Gotchas this term were Andrea and Eve from the Foundation classes who both demonstrated Cooperation. Krisha and Sierra from Grade 1 demonstrated Responsibility and Respect. Vanessa and Terry from the Middle classes were both spotted demonstrating Respect. Isabella and Jizelle from the Senior classes demonstrated Responsibility and Courtesy.
Healthy Schools Achievement Program
This year, St Therese's have joined the Healthy Schools community and signed up to the Healthy Schools Achievement Program. The program provides a framework that's designed to help schools bring together and enhance health and wellbeing initiatives to support a whole-of-school approach to health and wellbeing. As part of this we now receive a fruit delivery from Woolworth each week to ensure any students that have forgotten their fruit snack have something to eat.
We were joined at our assembly last week by Laura Ayres from Monash Health who presented our Healthy Schools sign along with our first award, we are proud to have achieved our SunSmart badge!
Semester One Reports and Student Led Conferences
End of Semester reports showing your child's academic growth were shared with you yesterday. If you are experiencing difficulties in accessing them online, please call so someone can assist you. You have been invited to make a time to meet with your child's teacher for a Student-Led Conference on either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. This will provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions about your child's report but to also hear from your child about their learning. Please don't forget to bring your child to the meeting as they will be doing a lot of the talking.
Don't forget Tuesday is a student free day in order for the meetings to take place.
End of Term
The term will end on Thursday for the students but not for the staff. The staff will be spending the day participating in professional learning around Student Mental Health and Wellbeing. I will share some of our learning and experience with you next term.
Stay warm and safe over the holidays and enjoy some quality time with the children!
