Year 2/3 Steiner
Celebrating Learning
We’ve had some fantastic learning this past fortnight!
Our 2/3 students reflected on their excursion to the Collingwood Children’s Farm and created detailed recounts about their day. They were able to share their understandings with one another and to make real world connections with our current Main Lesson which focuses on Farming. We are so proud of Rani and Aylen for getting up at assembly to share with the whole school about our excursion.
In Main Lesson we read the Native American story of The Legend of the Three Sisters: Corn, Beans and Squash, and The Story of Wheat. We will be learning about olives, oats and rye, and rice next. The students have created beautiful illustrations as always to accompany these stories in their Main Lesson books. We’ll be sending home students' workbooks next week and hope you enjoy looking through these together.
In Maths we’ve continued to explore addition with two-, three- and four-digit numbers. It’s been so wonderful to see how confident the students are becoming with using various strategies to solve these problems.
In preparation for the Winter Solstice Lantern Walk, students have created lanterns from their wet-on-wet watercolour paintings.
