PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Coming towards the end of Term 2, all students should be proud of their efforts in Physical Education! Across the school, students have been working on their personal goals across different forms of sports and skills. It has been great to discuss and hear all about everyone’s achievements!

In class, our Foundation students have been practising fair play. They have engaged in meaningful conversations about what makes a good sport and explored many different types of games and rules to practise their skills.

Our Year 1/2 students have enjoyed learning about Hockey. They have focused on the correct technique of how to hold a hockey stick, and using the equipment safely. They have used these skills to participate in a variety of games using these skills, whilst also discussing the aspects of fair play like our Foundation students.

As our Year 3-6 students come towards the end of term, they are all continuing to practise their skills in all the upcoming Athletic events. Students have had the chance to learn the basic rules and techniques of each event and are now working on refining their skills and mechanics.

This allowed many of our students to record their results and begin setting new personal goals and targets to reach.

Well done everyone on such a successful term!

Congratulations to all Year 5/6 students for competing in Balaclava District Round Robin competitions in soccer, netball and t-ball. Our mixed netball and the girls' soccer teams won the pennant and will compete in the Division.

LOTE - LANGUAGES

Bonjour Ripper Community!

Foundation students have been focusing on greetings, numbers, colours and family members. They have engaged in online programs, reading, writing and drawing tasks and various games. It has been wonderful watching them learn and seeing their confidence develop.

Our students have continued to focus on our unit on emotions. They have developed their understanding of words associated with feelings and asking and answering questions. The students have engaged in tasks that have provided them opportunities to express themselves. This has been practised through speaking/ listening/reading tasks, role play and games.

The students have loved learning and practising a variety of cultural dances including Bollywood, Haku, Can Can and Tarantella.

In Term 3 we will focus on learning Italian.

I’d like to take this opportunity with the holidays ahead to wish you all a wonderful break!

 Enjoy and take care.
