Opinion Survey

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGOS) is an annual Department survey. It is currently is open for all families to provide their feedback, until Friday 19th September. While the survey is optional, I strongly encourage one member from all families to participate, so all families are represented. The online survey takes about 20 minutes to complete, can be completed on a range of devices and collects family perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. Families were emailed a survey link and login details through a Compass email on Friday 22/8 at 5.15pm and I will continue to send out reminder emails until the survey closes, so please keep an eye out for those.

To date, we have received 12 responses or 11% of our families have contributed; in comparison in 2024, we had a total of 28 responses (23%).

Annual Report to the School Community

Thanks to the group of School Councillors and family members that attended this general meeting on Wednesday night. There was a lot of discussion while we digested this data collected in 2024. While some areas have shown improvement, there are others to work on. This has seen us focusing on building confidence in our school for our families, and helping our students feel a stronger sense of belonging.

The annual report is available on the school website, or hard copies are available at the office. You can also contact me if you have any questions or would like to find out more about it.

2025 VCE Revision Lectures

As we approach the end of Term 3, many students completing a Unit 3 and 4 subject are starting to turn their attention to the end of year exams. This year, the Department is again providing a small amount of funding to rural schools to help cover the costs of revision lectures. With many being online these days, often providing study notes and practice exams/questions, and funding to pay for them, these are now a much more realistic option for our students to help with their end of year preparation.

Subject teachers will be advertising relevant lectures for their students, and I strongly encourage students to take up the offer of free revision lectures. From the Elevate sessions; the difference for students who do better in their exams was down to the number of practice exams they had completed.

Term 3 Conferences

Formerly Parent Teacher interviews

Our Term 3 Conferences will be happening on Monday 15th September, the last Monday of term. As such, bookings will be open early next week in Compass, to allow families time to book in. Please note, families often use the end of term Progress Reports to decide if they should book a meeting, but this year, the end of Term 3 Progress Reports will be released on Friday 12th September, at the end of Week 8, not leaving much time for families to decide if they should book.
