Book Week Parade
Inquiry
Did you know that;
- people used to think that the sun revolved around the Earth?
- Pluto used to be counted as a planet but now it's not?
- the temperature of the Sun is 5, 500 degrees as its surface and 15 million degrees in the centre?
- seeds need water and sun to grow?
- vegetables taste best when you grow them yourself?
- sometimes you see the moon and sometimes you dont?
This Inquiry unit is full of amazing facts but it's also giving us a lot more questions and wonderings.
Book Week
What a brilliant Book Week it has been, from authors to parades, and everything in between. We read sooo many books during the week! Here's some more photos!
Year 1
WOW!! What a great day we had today celebrating BOOK WEEK! Everyone looked fantastic! We had a chance to write a short description about who we were dressed as and then did some art from the book WE live in a bus. If you get chance come upstairs and have a look!
Year 2/3
Hi families,
It has been another wonderful week at school. The sun has been shining so we have been enjoying lessons outside in the glorious sunshine. This picture below is some students who have been enjoying taking care of the gardening and what a FANTASTIC job they are doing. We also had a great time at Book Week. Enjoy the weekend!
Year 3/4
This week in Religion, students have been exploring and interpreting how parables reveal God's love, mercy and forgiveness. As well as how Jesus's actions bring hope and faith to others. After reading the Bible stories about 'The crippled woman' and 'The paralysed man', students chose a character from the stories and completed an Open Minded Portrait, demonstrating their understanding of the Bible stories.
The Senior Students
Margaret Preston Art Work
Since the beginning of term 3, students in 5/6 have been learning about the famous Australian artist Margaret Preston, most known for her paintings of local landscapes and native flora.
On Fridays with Ann, students have been creating their own art works inspired by Margaret Preston's style, with some incredible work in the form of butterflies and flower pots as you can see from the photos below!
