Earth Science means Fresh Garden Produce!
Is there anything more satisfying than growing your own produce and eating it? Tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, herbs as fresh as a daisy, and snow peas!! Some Foundation students, as part of their Inquiry learning this week, got to taste the freshest, crispiest, juiciest snow peas in all of Preston! All you need are seeds, soil, water and sun!
Book Week
A massive thankyou to Rosetta for her diligent planning and organisation of a most fantastic Book Week, celebrating the wonderful world of reading and literature. From visiting authors to reading and voting on shortlisted books to spelling bees, it's been a great week. And of course the magnificent Book Week parade which was held on Thursday. What a clever, creative bunch of kids we have at Sacred Heart. A massive shout out to our parents for giving our students a wonderful experience. We truly appreciate your efforts. Check out the photos throughout the newsletter!
Parade Partnership
A big thanks to Clint and the staff at Parade College for making their grounds available to some of our senior students every Wednesday. I know the soccer players really enjoy having their own space for an hour or so and enjoying each other's company.
MACSSIS Survey for Parents
Catholic schools are involved annually in seeking out feedback from its three main stakeholders (staff, students and parents) in order to improve school performance and student outcomes. The time has come for this process to take place at Sacred Heart. It involves you as parents completing a survey around our school's performance. These surveys are critical to the future planning of the school going forward. If you would like to participate in this survey please see me and I will organise a survey for you to complete and fill out. It's all online and can be done from the comfort of your home and in your own time. Please see me if you can assist in this important process.
Spring Working Bee ~ Keep the Date
Saturday, 13th September is the date set aside for the second of our community get togethers, our Spring Working Bee. It was wonderful to see so many families at the last one in autumn and we hope this is even bigger. Please put the date in your calendar!
Spring is about to spring, I think.
Have a great week,
Marty
