Dear Sacred Heart Community,
Prayer - Hope Anchored in Faith
As we reflect on this year’s theme from the Australian Catholic Education Conference, “Hope Anchored in Faith”,
We pray:
May the God of hope bless our families, staff, and students.
May our faith be the anchor that steadies us in
times of challenge,
our hope the light that guides us into the future,
and our love the gift we share with one another.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Hope, Anchored in Faith
This week, I had the privilege of attending the Australian Catholic Education Conference in Cairns, which brought together more than 1,400 educators, leaders, clergy and families from across Australia. The theme “Hope Anchored in Faith” reminded us of the importance of holding our Catholic identity while looking with optimism to the future. The conference centred on three priorities for Catholic education: Faith, Excellence and Access and featured keynote speakers, workshops and masterclasses that inspired and challenged us as educators.
One of the keynote speakers, Dr Steve Constantino, shared powerful insights on the importance of family engagement. He reminded us that when families and schools work together, students thrive. Family engagement is more than involvement, it is about building genuine partnerships where families are welcomed, respected, and seen as the first and most important educators of their children. At Sacred Heart, we know that strong family school partnerships deepen learning, strengthen faith, and create a sense of belonging for every child.
A highlight of the conference was the strong involvement of students and First Nations voices, from the artwork and cultural performances to the moving opening Mass with a 400-voice student choir. The conference was a celebration of our shared mission in education and has left me encouraged to bring new energy and ideas back to our community at Sacred Heart.
I would also like to warmly thank our amazing staff for their excellent work, and especially Marty, Kate, Ann, Rosetta and Kerrie for their leadership, dedication, and ongoing support. Your commitment makes a real difference to our students and our school community.
Meet our new students
We are very excited to welcome new students to our Sacred Heart community.

We look forward to getting to know them and their families, and we are sure they will quickly feel at home here at Sacred Heart.

Here’s what two of our readers had to say about books they enjoyed:
“One of the books that I love is One Piece by Eiichiro Oda because it has a good storyline and the artwork is great. The artwork is also by the author.”– Mohammad

There are only 15 days left to complete the Challenge! Let’s keep the spirit of Book Week alive and keep reading!
