WCPS Open Day & Assembly

Thank you to all who attended our Open Day and Assembly last Friday celebrating all things Public Education. We started the afternoon off with science experiments in recognition of National Science Week. It was a mix of different experiments involving Catapults, Paper plane launching, making musical instruments and looking at how chocolate changes when heat is added.

We then all headed into the break to enjoy recess tea with our families and staff. To conclude the day, we held our first school assembly for Term 3. We acknowledged students who have worked within this year's theme for Education Week "Ignite your potential" with awards. We also crowned our Athletics Champions and awarded students who have excelled in the field of Athletics and Cross Country. A performance of "Give me a home among the gum trees" by K/1B and "True Blue" by 2/3O and 4/5/6W delighted all those who attended. A slide show, showcasing all of our students ran during the performance and all the children were delighted to see their photo on screen.
