At Meadows Primary School we are bursting with excitement about how our students are embracing positive behaviours and turning them into rewarding moments through our recognition and rewards system.
A recent highlight was Lunch with the Principal. Foundation students were our first students who chose to save their Dojo points and swap them out for lunch with the principal, Mrs Figen Mustafa, creating anticipation and positive reinforcement of behaviours. They were treated to a delightful picnic lunch outside provided by me. The students enjoyed a relaxed. sociable lunch together. we savoured the opportunity to connect in a different setting.

On Tuesday 26th August all staff at Meadows PS participated in a curriculum day where we were engaged in new learning aligned to the Department of Education's revised Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM 2.0), which is being being progressively implemented across 2025 to 2027. It is based on the most recent evidence and school-based practice.
All Victorian government schools are expected to fully embed the VTLM 2.0 in their teaching and learning programs from the start of the 2028 school year.
The department is supporting schools in the implementation of VTLM 2.0, including through the development of Victorian Lesson Plans, which exemplify the model.
I am proud to say our staff have begun some intense learning in this area and look forward to further building on this in the coming years.

TELL US WHAT THEY THINK
As preciously announced in a Compass post, our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.
All families are invited to participate in the survey.
