Our screen is like a big city—sometimes it can be unsafe or confusing.
Not everything we see online is safe or meant for us.
Trusted adults can help us stay safe when we’re having screen time.
Year 1/2
Some information must always be kept private online, such as our name, address, school, passwords, and photos.
If someone asks for personal information, we should tell a trusted adult, who can help us block and report.
We keep information private because the internet is for everyone—and not everyone can be trusted.
Message to remember: Take Care, Don’t Share.
Year 3/4
Sometimes we may feel uncomfortable online, whether while messaging, gaming, or using apps and websites.
Being an upstander means:
Telling a trusted adult
Reaching out to support the person affected
Calling out harmful behaviour online
When faced with uncomfortable situations, we have strategies:
Seek Help

Report/Block/Change Settings
Take a Break
Year 5/6
There may be times online when we feel uncomfortable, either because of what we see or what is said to us.
We can respond using strategies:
Seek Help
Record/Screenshot
Report/Block/Change Settings
Take a Break
Being kind and brave online means being an upstander. This might include:
Sending a supportive message to someone
Calling out hurtful behaviour
Telling a trusted adult
Consent online means asking for and receiving permission before sharing someone else’s private photos or personal information.
