Extra Curricular Photo Day

Monday, 18 - Tuesday, 19 August

Next Monday and Tuesday, we will hold our Extra-Curricular Photo Days. These photos will form an important part of our Unison Magazine.

If you are part of any of the following groups or teams, please arrive at the HOB 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Make sure you know which uniform is required for each photo. You may need to bring both your Formal and Sports Uniforms, depending on the photos you are in. Students listed as wearing only a Sports Uniform may wear it for the entire day.

Please ensure you meet the College’s expectations regarding personal grooming. Students who do not meet these expectations will be ineligible to participate in the photo.

City2Surf Running Festival

Congratulations to our Run Squad members who travelled to Sydney last week to take on the gruelling 14 km City2Surf, from Hyde Park to the iconic Bondi Beach! It's the largest running festival in the southern hemisphere with 90,000 competitors.

A huge thank you to Ms Robertson, Mr Brennan, and Mr Pacey for leading and supporting the team. What an unforgettable opportunity and experience for everyone involved!

Students have been training with dedication for this event for 6 months, and they were rewarded on race day with personal best times and distances.

Vicki Wilson Finals

A huge congratulations to our Junior Girls (Yr 8 & 9) Netball team, who competed at the Vicki Wilson Cup Finals last week in Brisbane. All students gave their best and represented St Mary’s with determination and spirit. What an incredible opportunity and experience to play at Nissan Arena in Brisbane; no doubt it will be the first of many state-level carnivals this talented team will compete at! A special thank you to Ms Tindall and Ms McPhee-Smith for their support and guidance in the lead-up to and throughout the carnival.

NQ All Schools Touch Football

Congratulations to our two St Mary’s Touch Football teams that competed at the NQ All Schools Touch Football carnival in Townsville. Both teams played with skill and determination, with our boys' team making it to the grand final against Ignatius Park, narrowly losing in a hard-fought match. A big thank you to Ms Powell, Mr Cahill, Ms Lo Grande, and Ms Glenwright for your coaching and support in the lead-up to and throughout the event.

FNQ School Volleyball Champions

Congratulations to our Senior Boys Volleyball team, who were recently crowned champions at the FNQ School Volleyball Championships! The boys competed with skill and determination all day, finishing with a thrilling win over St Augustine's College in the grand final. Thank you to Mr Hanlon for training and coaching this exceptionally talented group.
