Partnerships and Pathways

Over the past two weeks, our Lunch and Learn series has brought three incredible guest speakers to CCC, each offering unique insights into careers, personal growth and lifelong learning.

Isabella Soriano (Class of 2022) shared her pathway since graduation, now studying a double degree in Laws and Social Science at Macquarie University. With experience in law, local government and community services, she inspired students with practical advice on resilience, work–life balance, exploring new opportunities, and staying true to your values.

Khushi Gupta (from UNSW) encouraged the next generation of women in engineering, showcasing the exciting diversity of this field. She highlighted the creativity, problem solving and teamwork that drive innovation, and introduced students to pathways like the UNSW Young Women in Engineering Club and early entry programs.

Jane Ewing (from NECA) shared her extraordinary career across meteorology, aviation, science, research and mathematics education. Breaking barriers in male-dominated industries, Jane inspired students with her personal and professional story of perseverance, curiosity and advocacy for women in trades and apprenticeships.

Together, these speakers reminded our students that careers are more than jobs — they’re life journeys filled with opportunities, challenges and growth.

Our sensational Year 10 team in the ACU VOYSE (Voice of Young Social Entrepreneurs) Challenge is making incredible progress toward their mid-September pitch! They’ve been busy defining and refining their big idea, consulting with peers across the College, as well as focusing on priorities that matter most to our school community — especially in reducing, reusing and recycling resources. This coming week they’re hosting a special focus group with a cross-section of our community, including Assistant Principal Mrs Vella and members of our SRC, to shape their final concept before the big pitch. We can’t wait to see where their passion and creativity will take them!

In some news from our year groups, Year 11 students have just refreshed their Study Work Grow Career Cluster results for 2025, revealing a vibrant spectrum of strengths in their recent Wellbeing lesson. Career Clusters focus on the unique skills and superpowers students bring to any pathway — not just a single job. This year again, our strongest cluster is Guardians, but CCC’s future is also shaped by our Innovators, Coordinators, Makers, and Informers. We use these insights to guide students toward their next steps with confidence in our coaching conversations.

Meanwhile, our Year 9 “campus detectives” took on Kingswood for the first exciting chapter of the WSU Fast Forward Program. In a high-energy simulated investigation, students showcased their transferable skills — from problem-solving and communication to collaboration, resilience, and initiative — working together to crack the case. They also explored the dynamic WSU learning environment, expanded their awareness of post-school opportunities, and embraced the value of being lifelong learners. A huge thank you to Ana Setiu Tuala and the Western Sydney University Future Student Engagement team for hosting such an innovative and inspiring start to the program.
