From the Principal Leader

Dear staff, students, parents, carers and friends of Chisholm,

YEAR 12 TRIAL HSC EXAM- WELL DONE AND CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Year 12 2025 for their dedicated efforts and wonderful commitment to their HSC Trial Exams during the last 2 weeks. I have been incredibly impressed with their focus on achieving their personal best whilst also supporting one another knowing that we are ‘Better Together’. The Year 12 students have been checking in with each other to ensure knowing is being left behind in the HSC journey. They are constructing study notes and sharing , as well as annotated writing samples to HSC questions to help everyone learn from each other. The final assessment will highlight their knowledge and skills strengths in each course, as well as pinpointing areas that require further revision or practice questions to further enhance their performance. I am so proud of our Year 12 students who are bringing their absolute best to school each day, even when things are challenging and seem incredibly difficult to overcome. Keep up the fantastic work ladies and you will certainly be rewarded in your HSC results. We are nearing the end of the journey, so please make the absolute most of the remaining 5 weeks of the Year 12 journey.

As you continue the next steps into this important season of your fast approaching HSC exams, remember the words from Philippians 4:13"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." These exams are just one part of your journey, and you have already shown courage, resilience, and determination to reach this point. Trust in your preparation, believe in your abilities, and know that God walks beside you every step of the way. Whatever the outcome, your future is in His hands, and His plans for you are filled with hope and promise (Jeremiah 29:11).

Year 12 2025 You’ve got this — and God’s got you.

WE ARE CLEAN AND GREEN AT CHISHOLM

At Chisholm we are currently exploring ways that we can be more environmentally aware and sustainable. The students are now seated in allocated areas across the college making them responsible for the cleanliness of their section of the college where they enjoy their break times. Since starting this during Term 3 we have noticed much greater care of our school environment with cleaner spaces outdoors and tidier spaces indoors as well. We are also investigating new bins to collect our rubbish that can separate our recyclables, organic and general matter. We will also be commencing a compost waste from our hospitality and food technology courses where students engage in food and beverage preparation. I am very proud of the efforts of staff and students where we are working together to make our college the best it can be with respect to our care for our environment, as well as encouraging good stewardship and sustainability of God’s creation.

At Caroline Chisholm College, we believe that caring for the environment is a sacred responsibility, entrusted to us by God. As stewards of creation, we are called to respect, protect, and nurture the world around us — from the smallest garden on our campus to the broader global community we share. Through our sustainability initiatives, environmental projects, and classroom learning, we encourage our students to live out Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’ to care for our common home. Together, we strive to reduce waste, protect biodiversity, and act with compassion and justice for future generations. By working in harmony with creation, we not only honour God’s gift to us but also ensure that this gift is preserved for all who come after us.

Greater Western Secondary Schools Steer Competition

Thank you to Mrs Amanda Moore, Miss Alison Hibbert , Mrs Di Larsen, Mr Geoff Clerke and Ms Ashleigh Bland's involvement in the Murray Grey Steer Competition at Clarendon last weekend. Students from Year 7 to 12 from Agriculture classes, Ag club and Primary Industries enthusiastically involved themselves in all elements of the competition which involves raising Vegas the Murray Grey steer for 100 days. Students were required to prepare the steer and parade him in a competition which involves 12 other schools.  Senior and junior teams were judged upon the quality of the steer, their preparation efforts, their leading skills and their ability to maintain the stall area in a clean and professional manner.
