Inquiry Centre

Highlight
Selamat Siang,
Even with only four days, we have had a busy week in the Inquiry Centre! To consolidate our understanding of procedures, we had a go at writing a recipe to make pizza and then cooked them. It was such a highlight to use the Cafe Studio.
In Reading, we have been focused on preparing for Book Week by reading some of the shortlisted texts. As a class, we discussed why they might have been selected for awards and the author's purpose when writing. We also joined a Zoom with the author Andrea Rowe to learn about what life is like as a real-life author. It has also been fantastic to spend time in our beautiful library space, exploring different books and borrowing. Please remember to pack a library bag!
In Maths, we explored growing and shrinking number patterns and challenged ourselves to define the rules of these patterns using our knowledge of skip counting.
Finally, we had a wild time celebrating Science Week with our wildlife incursion! Thank you to Steph and Jess for organising such an incredible experience.
Have a great week,
Miss Emmett, Em Glen & Jonny Hobbs, Katrina Chooi, Miss Shaye, Cassie Brisbane & Beth Szentesi
Reminders
- Indonesian Day Monday 18th August - wear red and white or other cultural costume
- Book Week Parade Friday 22nd August - dress as a character from a book
- Our library is open! Please ensure your child has there library book and bag on their day.
- Whilst Pokemon cards are a lot of fun, we are asking that these cards only be bought to school on a Friday when Pokémon club is on.
- We are asking for students to leave small toys at home as some of the toys that have recently been brought to school are going missing which of course brings great disappointment.
- Students are growing and at times very hungry! They are encouraged to bring some fruit/vegetables to have during a fruit break mid-morning.
