Leadership Centre

Salamat siang,

This week, students have taken part in special activities to celebrate Science Week and Bullying No Way Week.

Our science incursion from Wildlife Xposure gave students a chance to examine and discover wildlife up close and grow their appreciation and understanding of nature, biological science and living things. Some brave teachers (named Erin) also got wrapped up in the event! On Friday, we wore a splash of purple as a reminder to be an upstander to bullying or unfairness in the playground. As part of this, the Leadership Centre have also been discussing body positivity and gratitude in our wellbeing lessons. Classes each shared a chart of activities that families may like to do at home to promote body appreciation. From making a favourite recipe together, to just taking a simple walk, there are many opportunities for us to promote body positivity as students enter the teen years.

Book week is also coming up next week where we will celebrate the world of literature and the joys of reading! Outside of our usual dress up day, we also have Heath McKenzie coming to talk to the 5/6 students about his experience as an author, illustrator and now TV show creator on the ABC’s Do Not Watch This Show.

As always, it has been wonderful to see our students approach each learning opportunity with curiosity and a growth mindset.

Have a great week ahead,

From the Leadership Centre
