On Tuesday 29th July the BHS took five teams Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Intermediate Boys x 2, Intermediate Girls to the SSV Eureka Senior & Intermediate Basketball competition at the Selkirk Stadium, Ballarat. With three wins, the team qualified atop of Pool A and a spot in the Semi Final against Woodmans Hill Secondary College, which they comfortably won 27pts to 11pts booking themselves a spot in the Grand Final, a rematch against SEDA College. The confidence was high going into the match only for the team to get stunned by a quick starting SEDA College who took in a decent half time lead into half time. From here the BHS team was chasing its tail to inevitability go down 19pts to 25pts and finish in 2nd place.

The Senior Girls were part of a 5 team Round Robin competition. They played Mount Rowan Secondary College (38pts to 4pts), Mount Clear College (39pts to 7pts), Phoenix Secondary College (34pts to 15pts) and Woodmans Hill Secondary College (31pts to 7pts). 4 wins secured a spot in the Semi-Finals against Mount Clear College (53pts to 13pts) which the team comfortably won to book a rematch in the Grand Final against Phoenix Secondary College A team. The match went exactly the same as Pool match with BHS team crushing Phoenix 43pts to 4pts to take a dominate victory and the overall win.

The Intermediate Boys B were also part of the same 10 team Pool Play competition. They were part of Pool B alongside Woodmans Hill Secondary College (16pts to 12pts), Beaufort Secondary College (8pts to 16pts), Phoenix Secondary College A (4pts to 11pts) and the Ballarat High School A team (12pts to 24pts). Finally, the Intermediate Girls were part of 6 team Pool Play competition. They were part of Pool B alongside Mount Clear College (20pts to 11pts) and Mount Rowan Secondary College (8pts to 16pts). One win, one loss meant the team snuck into the Semi Finals and played Phoenix Secondary College which they were able to win 20pts to 14pts to book a rematch with Mount Rowan Secondary College in the Grand Final. Going into the Grand Final as the underdogs the BHS team had a point to prove and hopefully some payback from earlier in the day. In a low scoring affair, the team secured victory 11pts to 7pts. Another victory for Ballarat High School!
