Sport

Years 5 and 6

The Badminton Sports Innovation program in Term 3 for Year 5 and 6 students is an engaging initiative, learning, refining skills and techniques within the sport of badminton. Through a range of skill-building tasks, challenges, and match simulations, students will explore skills in all areas of the sport, including serving, forehand and backhand strokes, net play, and defensive techniques. Students will also develop tactics and improve their strategic thinking and ability to collaborate effectively with others. Our program places a strong focus on sportsmanship and fairness, fostering respect for opponents and teammates alike. By the end of the term, students will have learned all the essential skills needed for badminton, understood the intricacies of both singles and doubles play, and developed these abilities during competitive game play. Through this program, we aim to create a fun and supportive environment where students can enjoy the sport, improve their physical fitness, and build lasting friendships. We are excited to see our students grow and excel in badminton, embracing both the physical and mental challenges of the game.
