Radio Committee
Year 6
The Year 6 Radio Committee aims to enhance students' comprehension of the factors influencing the performance of radio shows, including the selection of suitable music, the production of both pre-recorded and live segments, scripting interactive events, and establishing rapport with the audience. This term in Radio Committee, students will listen to a variety of radio programs and podcasts before venturing into creating their own group radio shows. They will be responsible for developing scripts, designing costumes and props, recording their shows, and addressing audio issues such as distortion during production. Students will have the freedom to creatively research topics that they believe will educate and/or entertain the GWPS community, focusing on delivering a performance tailored to a specific target audience. Students will collaborate with their peers to create a challenging yet appropriate rubric for themselves and regularly refer to it while developing their radio segment. They will present their completed radio shows to the school and parents, showcasing their acquired knowledge and newly developed skills. This term, the Radio Committee will foster critical and innovative thinking among students, empowering them to become confident and effective communicators while working collaboratively with their peers.
