Book Week 

This year Willy Primary will officially celebrate Book Week in Week 6 (Monday 19th – 23rd August), however there will be some celebrations that take place in Week 5 and Week 7. Please see below for the details of each event.

Perform! Education Book Week Incursion - Thursday 15th August (Week 5)

Our Willy Kids will enjoy a performance by Perform! Education on Thursday 15th August titled ‘Maybe a Miracle’. It is based on the Children’s Book Council 2024 shortlisted books. The Preps - 3s will begin their session at 9:50am and finish at approximately 10:40am, and the 4s - 6s will begin their session at 11:40am and finish at approximately 12:30pm. All sessions will be held in the P.E. Hall.

Book Week Parade - Friday 23rd August (Week 6)

Our Willy Kids will have a chance to share some of their favourite literary characters at our annual Book Week parade. The parade will begin at 9:15am on the basketball court. It will be a wonderful opportunity for all Willy Kids to showcase their fabulous costumes. We can’t wait to see the creative costumes worn by our students and teachers.

Our Parents Association will be running a second-hand uniform sale in the yard from 9am while the parade is on.

Lamont Book Fair – Tuesday 27th – Thursday 29th August (Week 7)

The Book Fair will be open for business on Tuesday 27th August in the school library. Sales will be available each morning from 8:30am - 9:00am for students and parents. Sales will also be open each afternoon from 3:30pm - 4:15pm for students and parents. There will be no other sale times during the day. Payments can be made via cash, credit/debit card, or through the Lamont online portal.
