Student Wellbeing

Last week, the school staff, families, and friends of students had the opportunity to watch the Shrek musical. If you could have been there, you would have agreed that our students delivered an uplifting, joyful, and excellent performance. Being reminded of how talented, creative, and passionate our students are was incredible.

This performance reinforces the importance of allowing students to express their creativity and build communities within the broader school environment.

After all, the school may not be the favourite place for many teens. However, within those walls, young teenagers discover who they are and what talents they possess.

The college offers many extracurricular activities and clubs, such as the school production, SIS sports, school choir, and the debate club.

There are also niche clubs such as Knitting and Crocheting, Dungeons and Dragons, Arts and Crafts, Writing Club, and Prayer Group. School clubs are essential for developing critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, leadership, and collaboration skills, among other things.

Students are challenged to think outside the box and creatively solve existing problems.

There is no greater feeling than overcoming a challenge in a group. Students will encounter obstacles or difficulties, but through trial and error, they will find a solution to the problem, generating a feeling of accomplishment and valuing strength, teamwork, and perseverance. A student who attends the D&D club every lunchtime shared, "I like playing D&D with my friends. I know that when things change at home or with my teachers, D&D, every lunchtime doesn't change."

These clubs have created a sense of stability for this student and many others alike.By continuing to support and participate in these activities, our students will enrich their school experience and build lasting skills and friendships that will guide them through life's many adventures.
