Principal's Message

A message from our Principal

Dear Families,

My, this term is continuing to move along at a rapid rate. Over the past few weeks, I have really enjoyed getting into our wonderful learning environments throughout the school and connecting with more of our staff and students. I have been very impressed with the way many of our students are demonstrating the school values by being responsible, respectful and honest learners.  Keep up the sensational efforts.

100 Days of School-Prep

Last week our Foundation students celebrated their 100th day of school. This is a wonderful milestone which all students should be very proud of. It was great seeing the students dressed up as part of the celebrations. Everyone looked fantastic.

District Athletics-

Congratulations to the students who represented the school proudly at the district athletics competition on Wednesday competing against other students from the Wyndham area. At the conclusion of the day WVPS placed 1st competing against the 9 other schools, what a fantastic effort by our students. I am sure the students, like many of us have been inspired by the efforts of our Olympians competing in Paris and potentially we may one day see one of these same students competing at a future Olympic event.

Swimming Program-

Our school swimming program is well underway. Participating students have been greatly enjoying the opportunity to develop their swimming and water safety skills in the sessions at Aqua Pulse.

Year 2 Scienceworks Excursion-

Our Year 2 students have an exciting upcoming excursion to Scienceworks taking place across Weeks 7 & 8 of this term. This excursion is aimed at further supporting their understandings of the science concept of forces which is being explored in their classrooms. Please note, payment and consent for this excursion is required in order for your child to participate and must be provided via the Compass portal by the 19th of August.

Book Week-

Our annual Book Week parade will be taking place at the school on Tuesday 27th of August. The 2024 Book Week theme is ‘Reading is Magic.’ Students, should they wish to are welcome to dress up as a book character of their choice. We look forward to seeing the wonderful and creative options which students and staff come up with this year.
