Year 7 IGNITE Expo – 'Then and Now'

On Tuesday 23 September, our year 7 IGNITE students took part in the Then and Now Expo, an event designed to showcase their learning across a diverse range of subjects.

This interdisciplinary Expo highlighted investigations and explorations in English, humanities and social sciences (HASS), mathematics and science.

In English, students delved into literature to explore how civilisations and cultures are represented, focusing on the concepts of values, morals and beliefs.

In HASS, students studied ancient civilisations, investigating which societies have endured and which have not and reflecting on the cultural influences that have stood the test of time.

Through mathematics, students considered how dimensions can be measured, working with spaces and volumes and examining how physical matter can be arranged to meet the needs of living organisms.

In science, students explored animal classifications and examined how scientific models and understanding have evolved throughout history.

The Then and Now Expo provided an engaging platform for students to demonstrate their rich learning across these key curriculum areas, while building presentation and communication skills.

Congratulations to all the students and staff involved for their dedication and creativity in bringing this meaningful event to life.
