Exploring consumer psychology in year 8 business and economics
This term, our year 8 HASS students have been delving into the fascinating world of business and economics, with a particular focus on consumer psychology and marketing. As part of their studies, students have explored the runaway popularity of Labubu and similar collectable products, analysing the factors that contribute to their market success.
To put their learning into practice, students were challenged to design their own prototype for a competing collectable and develop an accompanying advertising strategy. This hands-on task required students to apply their research skills and economic knowledge, as they justified their design and marketing choices based on evidence and economic principles.

The unit encouraged creativity, critical thinking and an understanding of world market forces. Students developed valuable skills in product design, advertising and analysis, all essential for navigating and understanding the modern business environment.
Congratulations to all year 8 students for their innovative work and thoughtful reflections throughout this engaging project.
