Learning to Correctly Approach Bexley, Our School Wellbeing Dog

This fortnight, students are learning the important skills that help us keep Bexley safe, calm, and happy in his special role as our school wellbeing dog.

We know:

  • Always approach Bexley from the front, so he can see you.
  • Never surprise him from behind, it can make him feel scared.
  • Move calmly and quietly around him.

By practising these behaviours, we help Bexley feel respected at school and create a safe, positive environment for everyone. You might like to chat with your family at home about what this would look and sound like, and how it would make Bexley and all of us feel when we follow these important steps.

Thank you for supporting this important learning and helping us care for Bexley as he cares for us.
