October 27th, 2025    Nate

This week’s Superhero is receiving the award for their incredible display Persistence and the Learning Disposition of Problem-Solving.

Most people who know Nate would agree he is best described as a ‘legend’.

Whether it’s in the classroom or out on the sporting field or court, this hero gives 100% effort in everything they do. Nate is not afraid of a challenge - in fact, he runs toward it, often choosing the ‘spicy’ task just to see how far he can push himself.

When Nate doesn’t understand, or wants to know more, he asks for assistance or requests feedback, showing a great desire to improve!

Nate's enthusiasm, motivation, and endless energy lights up the whole studio – his excitement is contagious, and sometimes he can barely get his words out fast enough! You’ll always find Nate with his hand up, ready to help - from tidying the class or floor, to emptying the bins, he’s a true team player we can all rely on.

When Nate's not smashing through schoolwork, this Superhero can be found passionately backing his beloved Collingwood Magpies (and filling us in on some of the many game statistics) or sharing his latest basketball victories with the class.

As the last of four siblings to come through Kyneton Primary, Nate now proudly joins his three brothers in the ‘Superhero Club’ - what an amazing feat.

We absolutely love having this brilliant, big-hearted, and unstoppable Superhero in Studio 9.

Congratulations Nate, we hope you've had a great week.

Planning for 2026

As we begin planning for the 2026 school year, it’s important for us to know how many students will be attending Kyneton Primary School.

If your child will not be returning in 2026, please let the school office know as soon as possible. This information helps us plan class structures, staffing, and resources to best support all students.

Thank you for keeping us informed and helping us prepare for another great year ahead at Kyneton Primary School.

Chess State Championships

After qualifying through the recent regional championships, Team KPS made the journey to the Brandon Park Community Centre on Wednesday, 22nd October, to compete in the Primary Victorian State Chess Championships.

With our experienced Year 6 players away on school camp, a younger team of Year 3s and 4s stepped up to take on the challenge. The competition on the day was fierce, and the rules were tightly enforced which was new to the students. After some tough early rounds and plenty of lessons learned, KPS began to find their feet, pulling off some morale boosting wins and hard-earned draws.

Every result was fought for with determination, and the team finished the day on with 9 points, placing 16th overall.

A huge congratulations to Errol, Aarav, Harlow, Billy, and Charlie for showing resilience, teamwork, and good spirits across all seven rounds against some of the state’s best young players.

I’ve got a good feeling we’ll be back next year, stronger and ready to have another crack.

Bandanna Day - Thursday 30th October

Yesterday we celebrated Bandanna Day. Thank you to all the families who have purchased a bandanna to raise money for Canteen, a charity who helps young people find life in the face of cancer.

When you leave the house wearing a Canteen Bandanna, you are making more than just a fashion statement – it shows you are supporting young people facing cancer and you care.

Well done to our Student Council for leading the way with enthusiasm, creativity, and kindness.

Ride to School Fridays

We are thrilled to announce that every Friday from now until the end of Term 1 next year is officially Ride to School Friday! 🚲🛴🚶‍♀️

Let’s make the most of the beautiful weather ahead by riding, walking, or scootering to school. It’s a fantastic way to kickstart your day with fresh air, fun, and fitness. Plus, it’s great for the planet and a wonderful way to connect with friends and neighbours!

Why not rally your crew, form a walking or riding group, and turn your Fridays into a celebration of community and sustainability?

Let’s roll into the weekend feeling energised and inspired!

See you out there!

We’re now looking for a few extra volunteers to help us finish the year strong:

🥪 Canteen Volunteers – Thursdays or Fridays, 12.00–2.00pm

Without volunteer support, we may struggle to run Breakfast Club on some days, so any help is greatly appreciated!

If you’re interested, please let me know.

All volunteers will need a valid Working with Children Check (Volunteer) – it’s free and easy to apply for. You’ll also need to complete a quick OHS induction at the office.

We’d love to see a few new faces join the team soon!

Carpark Safety

We would like to address some important safety concerns regarding carpark use, and we kindly ask for your cooperation.

Kindergarten Carpark

We have been made aware that some families are using the kindergarten carpark who are not attending the kindergarten. This carpark is reserved exclusively for kindergarten families. If you have both kindergarten and school-aged children and need to park there, please ensure you use the ramp to access the school grounds.

The increased traffic in this area is making it difficult for kindergarten families to find parking and is also creating a safety risk due to the higher volume of foot traffic. Please also note that the gate between the kindergarten and school is now locked — children should not be lifted over the gate under any circumstances.

School Carpark

The school carpark has vehicles moving in and out throughout the day. For safety reasons, we ask that pedestrians do not use the stairs near the flag poles and then walk through the carpark as a shortcut. The designated ramp or steps are to be used when entering or exiting the school.

Thank you for your support in helping keep all members of our school and kindergarten community safe.
