JAPANESE

One of the highlights of the Japanese program in Term 3 was the Japanese Day which was on Thursday 28th August. All students enjoyed watching the Japanese performance in the morning and then participated in 4 different activities throughout the day. Year 5 and 6 students made their personal stamp by engraving their name in Japanese. Year 3 and 4 students made a Japanese lantern and Prep to Year 2 students made a Kendama toy and played it. Year 3-6 students also played some Japanese sport games in the school gym. It was a very good day and we had lots of fun!
Another amazing Japanese achievement this term was our participation in the Japanese Speech Contest on Sunday 31st August. Congratulations to Kitarah, Skye and Adeline in Year 5 who participated. They memorised a set speech and their personal speech in front of a large audience. They practised their speech in front of the students in their class, teachers in the staffroom and the school community at the school assembly. It was a great experience to meet other Japanese high achievers throughout Victoria compete their Japanese language skills.
