Main focuses:
*revise expected behaviours
*continue with THRIVE Curriculum, including awards, behaviour matrix, Playleaders, Helping Hub and use of activities in the diaries
*continue with Berry St practices such as Morning Circles, Ready to Learn Scales, Gratitude exercises
*continue to review the curriculum content in the THRIVE diaries and use it in classrooms
*continue with Bella in the yard in mornings and some recesses, then in the art room or wellbeing sessions during the day
*expand the Bella Storytime program to include Year1s and Foundation
*continue with Breakfast Club 3 mornings a week, and have fresh fruit in each classroom

*review behaviour data and work with students and families to help to get necessary supports in place for individual students
*complete the necessary processes to enable NDIS providers on site to work with their clients
*continue to work to expand our Education Support team by building Disability Profiles and submitting them for review. We have a Student Support Officer (Luana), School Inclusion Leader (Sharna Dean-Wright) and have built the aide team from 5 to 11 aides.
*continue to provide a room for our private practitioners to work from--- Katy Watkins (speech), Meaghan Morley (psychologist/counsellor). For details on connecting with them just contact Mrs Luana Lane.
*engage with the Real Schools language to build culture. This includes being specific about our expected behaviours, building relationships with our students, helping them to set and commit to personal goals. We run Restorative Practice sessions if there are conflicts which involves getting the facts of what happened, how everyone was feeling and then making a plan to move forward. We are committed to building, maintaining and repairing relationships.
We work with our parents for individual cases also. We value everyone’s perspective and emotions on concerns. Our goal is always to work together as we all have the same goal—for everyone to be happy and safe learners.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club runs for 3 mornings a week over near the gym area. It is staffed by some of our Education Support staff. We firmly believe that students need to have a good breakfast to be regulated and focussed int e classroom. We are always looking for more volunteers so if you think you could help from 8.25am please just contact Naomi Mc Master at school. We offer fruit , milk and toast. We are aware of allergies alerted on student files. It is a ‘grab and go’ set up so we can cater for lots of students to have a healthy snack before class.
Fruit bowls are a huge success in the classroom. We have more than tripled our weekly fruit order this term. It’s great to see so many students enjoying the fruit.
Speech Therapist and Psychologist
We have 2 private practitioners who work out of our school one day a week- a speech therapist (Katie Watkins) and a psychologist (Meaghan Morley). We understand how difficult it is to get students to appointments out of school hours, and the long waiting lists people face. Thus, we feel very fortunate that we are able to offer you these services. There are further details in the newsletter. If you would like more information, please speak with Luana Lane in the Student Support Office.
