From the Principal
We are now two weeks into Term 2 and there have been plenty of things happening around the school.
All our teaching teams spend a considerable amount of time each week planning their curriculum as a way to ensure they meet the needs of all students. To compliment the curriculum, all our students at Langy Park Primary School are provided a range of enriching experiences. In the first couple of weeks of this term our students have been involved:
- Year 3 and 4 incursions
- Year 6 Summer Sport Lightning Premiership
- Year 6 Author Visit to acknowledge ANZAC Day
As we move further into the term, year levels will continue to possibly have excursions, incursions and camps to look forward to.
As a school, we are very mindful and always reviewing our processes on the costs that are incurred by parents, as a result of the school activities we organise.
ANZAC Day Ceremony
On Friday, it was very special to welcome at our whole School ANZAC Day ceremony residents from Langwarrin Community Aged Care. One of the residents present was a member of the Australian Navy and spent time fighting in South Korea.
Into the future we are hoping to build stronger connections with this local facility and their residents.
Earlier in the week our School Captains and SRC leaders attended the Frankston RSL ANZAC Ceremony at Beauty Park in Frankston. It is so important that as a school, we take the time to reflect and be thankful for the service of so many Australian men and women, who have and are serving our country to keep us safe.
House Cross Country
On Wednesday our Grade 3-6 students were involved in House Cross Country. Mrs Burt did an amazing job with creating a new course based on the construction work for our new garden space that is being constructed on the Jackson Dve side of the school. I would like to congratulate all students who participated and those who will go and compete at the next stage.
Real Schools Parent Forum
On Wednesday night we had Daniel Vella from Real Schools, run a parent forum. He discussed what our 3-year partnership will focus on and provide some very practical parent strategies that align with the Real Schools work we are doing.
Very soon I will be able to share his presentation and I encourage all parents and carers to take the time to have a look at this presentation.
