Principal's Report

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

It’s hard to believe, but Term 1 is almost over, and the school holiday are just around the corner!

We’ve had a fantastic start to the year, focusing on learning and student growth in the classrooms.  At the same time, we’ve also had a lot of fun with engaging events that bring our school community together.  Our values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility have been genuinely in action and easy to see both in and out of our classrooms.

We were thrilled to welcome our new Year 7 students at the beginning of the year. They've completed their first full term at high school and are growing more confident every day. That positive energy has spread throughout the school!

As you will see in this newsletter, we've had a wide range of activities happening at school, including the NAPLAN testing. It's been a busy but rewarding term!

We are now entering a significant spiritual time for many of our community.  To our families observing Ramadan, Ramadan Mubarak and to those celebrating Easter, Happy Easter!

School Council elections

Congratulations to our new and returning College Council members for the term March 2024 – February 2026. They will join our existing representatives to help shape our school policies and ensure a safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning environment for all.

Family Engagement

Thank you to the families who attended our recent information evenings. While we didn't have as many participants as we hoped for, those who attended gained valuable insights into the upcoming school year. Your involvement in school activities is crucial and shows your child that their education matters.

Engaging with your child's learning

Next term, Monday 29 April, we'll be holding Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences. Progress reports will be published at the end of Term 1 to facilitate discussions about your child's progress. I encourage you to have positive and productive conversations with your child's teachers and help them set goals for Term 2.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning progress, their year level coordinator is your first point of call.

Term 2

We'll be returning for Term 2 on Monday, April 15th. Please remember that there will be an ANZAC Day holiday on Thursday, April 25th, so there will be no school. Students should check Compass before Day 1 for any timetable adjustments.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and I wish you all a safe and enjoyable school holiday!

Warm regards

Pam Robinson
