Year 4

Hello from 4S

Term 2 is now upon us, and we’re gearing up for a busy term of activities and learning opportunities in 4S.  From classroom visitors, Easter Bonnet Parade, Athletics Day, to our upcoming Zoo visit, students have been experiencing a wide array of adventures, making memories that will last a lifetime.

In Term 1, we had the honour of welcoming Lieutenant Commander Dave Lassam into our classroom.  Lieutenant Commander Lassam shared interesting stories of his experience at sea, inspiring our students with tales of resilience and courage.  His visit not only broadened our students’ horizons, but also instilled in them a deep appreciation for the men and women who serve our country.

Our annual Athletics Day last week was a great success, filled with cheers, camaraderie, and fierce competition.  Students showcased their athletic prowess in a variety of events, from sprinting to long jump.  It was heartwarming to witness the unwavering support and sportsmanship displayed by our students, cheering on their peers and celebrating each other's achievements.

Looking ahead, our students are eagerly anticipating diving into the fascinating world of Food Science with Al starting this week.  From learning some new simple recipes that they can take home and use, to learning about safe food handling techniques and working as a team.  Make sure you get your child to show you some of the recipes they learned.

We have started our inquiry unit for the term, exploring Endangered Animals and conservation efforts.  Students have begun the process of researching their chosen animal and preparing a PowerPoint presentation to share with the class later in the term.  Students are looking forward to the opportunity to visit the Melbourne Zoo as part of the unit, which will provide students with invaluable insights into wildlife conservation and biodiversity.

Here's to a term filled with endless possibilities and unforgettable adventures!
