Meet our Sports Captains
MEET OUR 2024 SPORTS CAPTAINS
This year we have a very dedicated group of Sports Captains which includes, Oscar Moody, Leopold Forynski, Lexi Harrison, Asha Taylor-Wright, Lenny Spicer, Alyra Brown, Tom Gent, Millie Jeppesen, Alex Butler, Nico Savage, Ethan Hammersley, Harper Rudman, Aleira Jarvis, Starla Lilley, Aurora Walmsley and Hugo Phillpot.
They have had a very busy Term 1 with the House Athletics Carnival, Colour Run, Swimming and other Division and District Sports days.
This week we asked them a few questions to get to know each of them better.
What's your favourite sport/team?
Alex - Basketball, Memphis Grizzlies
Nico - I enjoy lots of sports and my favourite probably being tennis and my favourite tennis player is Jannik Sinner and my second favourite sport is footy and I go for the West Coast Eagles.
Ethan - My favourite sports are AFL and NBA. My favourite teams are the Collingwood Magpies and Milwaukee Bucks.
Oscar - Basketball
Leopold - My favourite sport is basketball. I like it because when I play I am part of a team in which we all work together to achieve our goals. My dream is play professional basketball for my favourite team the Los Angeles Lakers.
Aleira - Footy, Collingwood Magpies
Starla - My favourite sport is Basketball and I like watching footy, Geelong Cats.
Harper - I go for the Geelong Cats
Aurora - Don't have one
Lenny - Footy, Collingwood Magpies
Lexi - Netball/Basketball, Melbourne Vixens (Netball)
What was your motivation to become a sports captain?
Alex - I love sports.
Nico - Although sports captain wasn't my first option I still thought I would be a good fit for the role because I enjoy sport and I like helping Mrs Owen.
Ethan - My motivation was loving sport and always wanting to help out on sports days and in PE.
Oscar - I like sport generally. It is healthy and good for you.
Leopold - My motivation to become sports captain is to encourage participation in sporting activities and help others achieve their goals.
Aleira - Because I love sports
Starla - To help kids and make sure they have fun and to help Mrs Owen.
Harper - I love being a sports captain because I get to help little Preps and teach them new things and help Mrs Owen.
Aurora - I love sports and it is so fun to help with sports days and helping the Preps which is the best thing in the world.
Lenny - To work hard and participate in any sporting school event
Lexi - Being able to encourage people to do sport and for the fun of doing something I love to do and make that my role.
What's your favoutire hobby outside of school?
Alex - Basketball
Nico - I know that this is probably to do with sport and it kind of is, I really like playing tennis with friends outside of school but I also enjoy playing video games with friends from school.
Ethan - My favourite hobby is probably playing basketball and footy.
Oscar - Surfing and basketball.
Leopold - My favourite hobby outside of school is playing basketball. I also like reading books, looking after my puppy Pancho and playing with friends.
Aleira - Motor bike or normal bike riding
Starla - Basketball and Netball
Harper - I play netball for Warrnambool.
Aurora - Contortion, Acro, Tumbling, Dance, Basketball, Tennis, T-ball, Soccer, Running and Mini Golf.
Lenny - Footy , any other sport and footy training with my friends
Lexi - Sport, hanging out with friends, travelling and the beach
