Achievers Assembly

On Monday last week, we held our Opening of College Liturgy and Achievers’ Assembly. We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all our Year 12 students from the graduating class of 2024. It is with great pleasure that I now acknowledge the students who, through determination, perseverance, and hard work, achieved outstanding results in their academic pursuits.

 

Year 12 Academic Awards

The Year 12 Academic Awards recognize academic excellence, awarded to the top-ranked student in each subject based on their study scores. Recipients receive a framed certificate and a $50 book voucher for each subject.

The Westvic Staffing Solutions award is presented to the student from the Vocational Education and Training (VET) stream earning the highest study score in a VET subject. Sponsored by Westvic Staffing Solutions, the recipient receives a certificate commemorating this achievement and a monetary amount of $100.

 

The recipient for 2024, studying VET Sport and Recreation, is Harry Hoekstra

 

The Cardell’s Accountants Humanities and Social Sciences Award

This award is presented to the student from the Humanities stream earning the highest ATAR in this range of subjects. Sponsored by Cardell’s Accountants, the recipient receives a certificate commemorating this achievement and a monetary amount of $250.

 

With an ATAR score of 92.8, studying Geography, Business Management, General Mathematics, Environmental Science, Biology, and English, the recipient is Stella McGannon

 

The Leongatha Medical Group Science and Mathematics Award

This award is presented to the student with the second-highest ATAR. Sponsored by the Leongatha Medical Group, the recipient receives a certificate commemorating this achievement and a monetary amount of $150.

 

With an ATAR score of 97.1, studying General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Physics, Psychology, Specialist Mathematics, and English, the recipient is Noah Furness

 

College DUX

The Dux of the College is the student who attains the highest ATAR. The College Dux receives a framed certificate commemorating their achievement, their name engraved on the College Honour Board, and a monetary amount of $500.

 

The winner of the 2024 College Alumni Dux of the College, with an ATAR of 98.85, studying Biology, Chemistry, Physical Education, Psychology, Mathematical Methods, and English, is Sandra Dyke.

Medical Information Confirmation for Parents of Years 9, 10, and 11 Students

Parents of students in Years 9, 10, and 11 are required to check and confirm that the medical information on file is accurate. The next time these parents log in to PAM, they will receive a notification prompting them to confirm the medical details. This notification will appear each time they log in until confirmation is completed.

 

Please note that parents of students in Years 7, 8, and 12 are not included in this request, as they were previously asked to verify medical information for upcoming camps.

 

Extra Help in Maths

Library Competitions

 

"As part of celebrating National Love Pet Day, the Resource Centre held a Library Pet Photo Competition where students voted on students’ cutest and funniest pets. We had 36 photo entries and over 60 people voted on Thursday during lunchtime. The range of photos included budgies, horses, cows, and of course, cats and dogs.

 

The winners were:       Cutest 1st prize             ‘Frankie’ the dog, by Charlotte from 8B

                                           Cutest 2nd prize            ‘Ziggy’ the cat, by Tess from 8A

                                           Funniest 1st prize        ‘Shadow’ the horse, by Mel from Cam1
