Fun, Sun and lots of moving - PE at Highvale Primary

Term 1 is off to a bang in Physical Education at Highvale Primary!

The preps have been exploring movement with bean bags, hoops and the parachute and have even discovered the “Bean Bag Monster” who sometimes comes to visit.

Year 1 and 2 have been learning how to be a “Ninja” by adopting a side on stance when throwing.  See if they can show you their Ninja position.

Year 3 and 4 are working hard on fitness and lots of throwing and catching, whilst applying the skills to a range of games.

The Year 5 and 6 students have been focusing on throwing, catching and fielding, learning about how rotation of the body gives power when throwing.  The students also had fun playing “French Cricket” in small groups.

The hot weather has made PE a little challenging for all students over the first few weeks so we have enjoyed a cooler week to get out and move our bodies.
