Taradale Mineral Springs Festival
The Taradale Mineral Springs Festival is coming up on Sunday 10th March. Every year the school has a stall to sell produce, baked goods, plants, craft and preserves and it's a great fundraiser as well as a wonderful day for everyone involved. If you can spare an hour or two to volunteer on the stall please sign up here: Mineral Springs Roster. Kids are welcome too! We also need donations of baked goods and preserves - you can let us know what you will make/bring on the second page of the roster.
Bunting to decorate the school:
Our colourful bunting that hangs from verandahs and classrooms around the school has definitely seen better days so the Parents and Friends Group is making a fresh batch. We are seeking donations of colourful or patterned fabric that we can use to make flags - fabric can be left in the produce cart for us to pick up. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to cut out flags already. We are asking that they be brought to school any time before next Wednesday the 26th with the hopes that we'll sew them up on Thursday, Friday and the weekend. The library will be available all day Thursday if anyone wants to join a sewing bee to put the strings of flags together ready to hang.
Garden Club:
Thanks to Sam and Meg for setting up a Garden Club to try to keep on top of weeds in the school garden and continue to beautify the school grounds. Indigenous plants that were planted to surround the Prep/1's Fairy Garden are starting to establish and the recent working bee resulted in fresh mulch and even more weeding. Garden Club is on every Friday from 8:45 - 9:30 but if you ever have a spare half hour please help yourself to a pair of gloves (in the produce cart) and do some weeding. Look for our pink 'Please weed here' signs - can't miss em!
Breakfast club:
Breakfast Club is currently operating on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We are still hoping to find parents to run Breakfast Club from 8:30 - 9:00 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Breakfast club volunteers now have their own whatsapp group to coordinate and communicate about supplies, cover days or ask questions - everyone who is interested is welcome to join:
Volunteers needed in our classrooms:
The school is hoping to find parents or carers who can come into the prep/1 and 2/3 classrooms to read with individual students. This can be so, so helpful for kids as they develop their reading and comprehension skills.
Mel, our kitchen garden educator, and Chris, our cooking teacher both love to have a few extra helpers for their classes on a Tuesday to cook and garden with the students too.
*Parents/carers who volunteer at the school do need a working with children check - this is free for volunteers and very easy to complete online HERE

Bulb Fundraiser
Our Bulb fundraiser is live! http://www.bulbfundraiser.com.au/TARADALE
Please spread the word as anyone can order and bulbs will be sent directly by post. In the past this has been a brilliant fundraiser for the school - the first year that we ran it we raised nearly $2000!

Parents and Friends Group
We use this page to update our community about the Parents and Friends Group activities and how you can be involved.
All parents and carers at the school and friends (community members) are welcome to join the group.
In collaboration with the school, fundraising events will support areas at the school including:
- home readers
- library books
- games and quiet activities for students during break times
- small appliances for the SAKG kitchen classes
- coffee machine for the Breakfast Club volunteers
- new marquee for fundraisers
- garden beautification
- playground toys
- automated watering system for the greenhouse
- resources for the playgroup
