Principal's update

Hello everyone,
Here is the newsletter for week four of term one .
If you have any questions, please feel free to come and see me.
Help in the school library
We have been busily setting up a school library in room 2. The library will contain home readers, our new phonics books and the school's large collection of fiction and non-fiction books. If anyone has 10 minutes or so at the start or end of a day for quick tidy up - checking books are in the right spot, general tidying - it would be much appreciated.
Thank you to Rai from Squishy Minnie for the book and poster donations and to Frances who has been sorting and shelving books.
Parents and Friends Club
Eve has provided updated information for the Parents and Friends page including current and upcoming activities and events. Have a look at the Parents and Friends Group page for more details.
Information on fundraisers etc. will be on that page rather than the Principal's update page to make things easier to find in the newsletter.
Breakfast Club
We are now able to offer Breakfast Club on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Thank you to parents and community members who are available to help on those days.
We would like to offer the service every school day, but that is dependant on having people volunteer. If you would like to know more or to volunteer, please let me know.
The more volunteers, the more days we can operate the Breakfast Club.
Taradale PS is a member of the Food Bank Breakfast Club programme. This means we are able to offer breakfast to all students every day at no cost to families or the school.
The school orders all the food for the club and it is staffed by adult volunteers who supervise children at breakfast.
School Council 2025
At the conclusion of the nomination period, we received one nomination for the three vacancies in the parent category. Congratulations to Kate Perry who will be returning to SC for another term. Our other parent members are Sam Downing and Tiff Inglis.
The remaining positions can remain vacant, or as Executive Officer I can approach people to fill the positions. At the time of writing the school employee position also remains vacant.
If you would like to know more about School Council, please come and see me and/or refer to the below attached information.
