LOOK WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN AUSLAN AT MPHPS
Hello everyone,
Last week we had great start in the Auslan classroom. It’s so good to see students practising the signs they have learnt and being enthusiastic about their learning.
SIGNS OF THE WEEK
Don’t forget to ask your child to show you some of the AUSLAN signs they have been learning. The signs of the week are: ‘hello,’ ‘Auslan,’ & ‘sign.’
IN THE CLASSROOM
Years 3 – Students have been learning about the School Values as well as our new classroom routines in the Auslan classroom. They have also been introduced to the Auslan Alphabet.
Year 4 – Students have been revising the School Values as well as well as signs related to the alphabet and animals in Auslan.
Year 5 – Students have been revising the School Values as well as revising signs they have learnt last year related to nature in Auslan.
Year 6 – Students have been revising the School Values as well as revising signs related to numbers and the four operations in Auslan.
- The advantages of learning Auslan are rich for those that are deaf or hard of hearing and use Auslan, it’s a vital means of communication and for the hearing population it offers an avenue to connect with and understand the Deaf community.
