Grade 3

Literacy Block
This fortnight, students began their unit on Ancient Rome, exploring its geography, founding legend, and the role of gods in daily life. Next, they will examine social classes and the influence of leaders like Hannibal.
In literacy, students have focused on forming anti-clockwise letters, explored various spelling patterns, and worked on reading fluency.
Take a look at our own World Rivers we made last week! Each river had a "source" (where the river begins), a "mouth" (where the river finishes) and a farm with channels for irrigation.
Numeracy
In Numeracy, students have continued to work through addition and subtraction concepts, progressing to the subtraction and addition of two and three digit numbers. Following the addition and subtraction unit students will begin a measurement unit on Time.
