School Council Elections

Dear Families,
I am writing to you to call for nominations to the Teesdale Primary School Council.
School Council plays a vital role in supporting good governance of our school and supporting the implementation of the school’s vision. School Councils are a legislated body that that are responsible for supporting the School Principal in governance of a number of areas including reviewing finances, procurement and more broadly ensuring the school has a strong reputation in the community.

Over the past few years Council have achieved some exciting things in the school including;
- A number of Buildings and Grounds projects (COLA, new Sports Shed, upcoming student toilet refurbishment etc).
- Participating in the 2022 school review.
- Review and endorsement of School Policies.
- Entering into contracts and agreements as required (e.g. school cleaning and outside hours school care).
The nomination period for members for school council is now open. Current parents of students at Teesdale Primary are welcome to self-nominate or be nominated for a vacancy, of which there are currently 4. School Council membership is for two years. School Council meetings are held eight times throughout the school year, generally two meetings each term. School Council meetings are currently held on Tuesday evenings.
Nomination forms are available at the school office and nominations will close at 4:00pm on Wednesday February 19th.
