Hello to all families and friends of OSHC,

 

We have joined forces with Ballarat Community Health and have become involved in the program Vic Kids Eat Well, implementing change within our menu and offering a healthier option to children. Please find below our menu.

Children may select from the following options:

Choice of cereals: Wheat bix, porridge, Special K, Rice bubbles, Corn Flakes.

Served with, Lactose free milk, reduced fat milk. Air Fried Hash Browns

AND

Selection of wholemeal/wholegrain toast and/or wholemeal/wholegrain English muffins and/or crumpets and/or raisin bread. Served with assorted spreads (e.g. nutlex, vegemite, jam)

AND

Seasonal fruit and vegetable platter (e.g. apples, oranges, bananas, pears, grapes, carrots, cucumber, capsicum, cherry tomatoes, cheese)

AND

Reduced fat yoghurt

 

Drink

Reduced fat plain milk, Lactose free milk and water

Afternoon Tea

Food

 

Seasonal fruit and vegetable platter (e.g. apples, oranges, bananas, pears, grapes, carrots, cucumber, celery capsicum, cherry tomatoes, reduced fat cheese)

AND

Reduced fat yoghurt

 

Wholemeal / Wholegrain crackers, hummus dip,

Bolognese sauce with Beef or Chicken and Wholegrain pasta. (Onions, garlic, pasta sauce)

Pizza Bread Wholemeal bread, pizza sauce, reduced fat cheese, Ham, Olives, Pineapple

Reduced fat cheese, ham/tuna and tomato sandwiches / Wraps made with wholegrain bread and wholemeal wraps

Fruit Muffins (vanilla muffin with berries,) served with fat reduced Cream cheese.

Drink

Reduced fat plain milk, Lactose free milk and water

 

We have also joined teams with the school library and Zin is rotating books for us every 5 weeks, giving children the opportunity to explore the books that are in the library, while attending OSHC.
