What a fantastic day it was learning about and celebrating Harmony Day! This special event is a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. It is a time to recognise and appreciate the many cultures that make up our community and to reinforce the message that everyone belongs. As a true melting pot of cultures, Australia’s rich diversity is one of its greatest strengths.
Students enjoyed visiting different classrooms and learning about cultures from around the globe. Through these experiences, they gained a deeper understanding of what makes Australia unique. It was wonderful to see so many students embracing the day by wearing traditional cultural dress or the official Harmony Day colour—orange.
A special highlight of the day was the creation of a collaborative puzzle. Each class designed a piece that reflected their interpretation of Harmony Day. Some pieces showcased the heritage and cultures of the students, while others depicted the various festivals celebrated within our diverse community. Staff members also contributed to the puzzle, with the final piece being added after a presentation by the after-school care students.
Harmony Day was a fantastic celebration of inclusion and unity, reminding us all of the importance of embracing and respecting our diverse backgrounds.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended the recent School Support Group meetings to discuss the learning and wellbeing goals of their child. Your involvement and collaboration play a vital role in supporting student success.
These meetings are essential in ensuring that allied health professionals, school staff, and families work together in a cohesive and supportive manner. By strengthening this partnership, we can better assist students in mastering their goals and providing them with the guidance and resources they need to thrive.
Staff are currently finalising the documentation from these meetings, and it will be sent out to all those involved shortly. We appreciate your ongoing partnership in fostering a positive learning environment for our students.
As always, we greatly appreciate your feedback so that we can continue to best cater for our families.
On Monday 24th March we had our pupil free day, during which our staff engaged in a range of professional learning.
