Child safety at SMDP

At SMDP, we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. SMDP has appointed a Child Safety Team that works in preventing, identifying and mitigating risks in child safety and wellbeing.

At our school we actively encourage all students to express their views and feel comfortable about giving voice to the things that are important to them. The curriculum design integrates knowledge and skills to enhance students' understanding of being safe, as well as their understanding of their rights to feel safe.

The students have a copy of the child safe standards written in child friendly language (by past student leaders at SMDP) in their classrooms.

Further information included in our St Martin de Porres Primary School Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy can be found on our website.

Important Reminder about Medication at School

Medication Authority Form

Any students requiring medication to be administered at school must have a Medication Authority Form (MAF) signed by the parent and signed by an AHPRA registered medical practitioner.

This document will provide instructions on the administration of the medicine to the student.

Parents must ensure that medication brought to school is in its original package with original labels and handed in to the office to be stored in a central location.

Please speak to your child’s classroom teacher if you need a copy of the Medication Authority Form.
