Principal's Report

Dear EHPS Community,

On the final day of Term 1 and as we begin the Autumn holidays, I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to our wonderful Essex Heights community. It has been a privilege to serve as Acting Principal while George has been on leave this term and I am grateful for the trust and support shown to me during this time.

My sincere thanks to our dedicated staff, whose commitment to our students makes every day a success. Your passion, hard work, and care for the children is truly inspiring. I would also like to acknowledge and thank our wonderful families for their ongoing support. Your partnership makes a tremendous difference in creating a positive experience for your children and it was lovely to see the excitement today when the Easter Raffle winners were announced, thanks to our Parents and Friends Club for their organisation of this special tradition.

A special thank you to the Principal Team this term - Felicity O’Flynn, Renée Dare and Kelvin Tang - for their invaluable contribution and leadership. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the Office staff, whose often behind-the-scenes work, care and dedication is second to none.

The final day of Term 1 is a highlight of our school calendar with the celebration of Grandparents and Special Friends Day. It was a joy and I was filled with pride to see our students perform at the concert. Thank you to all our special guests for making the day memorable by joining the concert, visiting classrooms, and sharing a picnic with loved ones. Thank you to Ms Alyssa Kennedy and Ms Grace Cordell for their coordination, talent, and inspiration in leading the students and organising such a delightful community event.

We farewell the following students and their families at the end of this term, and we wish them all the best as they start at their new schools:

  • Anna G (PDB) & Alex G (2BC) - relocating out of area
  • Kiana Y (1H) & Melody Y (34S) - moving interstate
  • Peyton H (2BC), Fallon H (34D) & Hunter H (6D) - moving interstate

I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday and look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 2 beginning on Tuesday 22nd April.

Kindest regards,

Elisha Cotterell

Acting Principal
