Marimba Program

All Years 4, 5 and 6 students in participate in the Marimba Program and are part of a Marimba Ensemble. Each student attends a weekly rehearsal for 30 minutes with their classmates and class teacher, generally held in the Hall. The Marimba Program is an extension of the Classroom Music Program. The Marimba Ensemble teacher is Blake Hansen. Blake is an experienced music teacher who has taught percussion and marimba at Essex Heights for the past few years. During rehearsals, students are given the opportunity to improve their: 

• listening skills
• memory
• co-ordination
• concentration
• ability to follow instructions
• self-control
• teamwork
• sense of community
• performance skills

The event notice about the Marimba Program has been published on Compass. The program cost is $60 for the year. Payment and consent are due now and not later than 4 July.
