Principals Report

Dear SEPS Families,
It is hard to believe that Term 1 is done. I would like to congratulate the entire SEPS community for a wonderful term. Students have been amazing, staff have been working like Trojans and parents have been supportive and kind. SEPS is truly a very special school and we are all lucky to be part of this wonderful community.
We finished the term with an exciting Easter Hat Parade this morning and there was lots of chocolate deliveries for the raffle. It was great seeing so many family members attend the parade. A huge thank you to our amazing community for their generosity in donating chocolates. Not only did we have lots of prizes and a chocolate for every child, but we were able to make a donation to Sandy Hospital and hopefully brighten the day for some deserving people in our community.
Staffing
Sadly we are saying goodbye to our beloved Mrs Arkey. Wendy is one of the longest serving members of our team at SEPS and is not only a much loved teacher and member of staffm, but also a fountain of knowledge and wisdom. We are going to miss her dearly but wish her all the best in her retirement.
Pauline Liddiat, one of our fantastic Integration Aides, will also be saying goodbye as she moves on to new beginnings in a secondary college. We wish Pauline all the best and look forward to hearing about life working with teenagers! We welcome Gillian Scott to our Education Support Team.
SEPS Social
A huge thank you to Agus and the SEPS Social Team for organising the Parent Gala last weekend. By all accounts it was a great night and I hear that there were a few ‘tired’ people still walking around on Monday. While the main aim of the night was to get together and have fun, the team managed to also raise funds for the school. The money raised is being put towards a new LED screen in the gym. More information is in the SEPS Social tab!
Lost Property
Also a very big thank you to Vanessa Cowle (Maggie and Florence's mum) for her offer to wash and dry the mountain of lost property that has been laying around the school. She also folded and sorted and made a mammoth effort to return items to their rightful owners. With the cooler months upon us, please use the holidays to label EVERYTHING, especially jackets, jumpers and beanies!
Hunger Busters
Hunger Busters will resume in week 2 next term. All funds raised go to four schools in the Phillipines. This has been a long held tradition at SEPS and we know first hand that the money raised assists four schools and their communities. They have purchased resources, books, furniture and even provided some air conditioning. The schools are presently trying to create a mobile library that can be shared amongst the different communities so that the children have access to books at home. Some of our parents have asked that we support the provision of healthy choices at Hunger Busters. While it is every families discretion as to what treats you provide and also what your children purchase on a Friday afternoon, we ask that you consider some healthy treats when it is your turn for Hunger Busters.
Wishing you all a happy and safe Autumn break.
