Visual Art

We have been doing some spectacular work in the art room. Year 6 have been doing a series of lessons on the mathematical elements of portraiture and have been producing some beautiful and refined work. It's so rewarding for them to start seeing the person they are trying to draw emerge on their page. I've been absolutely loving watching their skills develop each week.

For Easter some of the younger year levels have been making suncatchers to take home as Easter decorations. This has been a fun and engaging process for everyone. It has been particularly good in developing a steady hand, drawing and cutting skills.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holidays and I'm looking forward to more amazing things to come next term.

Mandarin

This week in Mandarin, our Grade 3/4 students have been exploring the topic of hobbies (爱好 – àihào)! They focused on asking and answering questions about their favorite activities, practicing both spoken and written forms. It’s fantastic to see students confidently using Mandarin to express their interests—great job, everyone!

This week in Mandarin, our Grade 5/6 students have been expanding their language skills by learning how to talk about school subjects, activities, and telling time in Chinese. They have also been practicing writing sentences about their schedules, confidently expressing when they have certain classes or activities.

You are all amazing!

你们真棒!(Nǐmen zhēn bàng)
