Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 2!

I hope you are all having a lovely break with those that you love and have had time to reflect on the sacred season of Easter.

We start this term with the sad news that out beloved Pope Francis has died. Known for his humility, compassion, and advocacy for the marginalized, Pope Francis' dedication to peace, justice, and environmental stewardship was a gift to us all.

We pray for the College of Cardinals, tasked with the sacred duty of selecting his successor. May they be guided by wisdom, faith, and the spirit of unity as they discern the future leader of our Catholic Church.

As staff, we have gathered this week to learn with our colleagues from across the Sandhurst Diocese. We know that great things happen when educators come together to share, reflect, and grow. This opportunity has allowed us to share best practices, explore new ideas, and support each other in our shared mission to improve outcomes for every student. By learning together, we strengthen our teaching, deepen our understanding, and stay inspired. Collaborating with other schools helps us see challenges from new perspectives and celebrate the many ways great teaching can happen.

We are so lucky at St Therese's to have a large teaching staff who work closely with their team; however, not all schools have this luxury. This collective approach ensures that no teacher is working alone - and that every student benefits from the wisdom and experience of a broader learning community. We’re proud to be part of a diocese that values learning together to support every child’s success.

I will be on Long Service Leave for Week 2 & 3 this term, returning in Week 4. Kim Carter will be Acting Principal during this time with the support of Gabby Walsh, Marcia Arnold and the learning leaders (Georgie Goode, Molly Lea, Marty Leyden, Michelle Cole and Josh Smith). I am so grateful to have such a high-capacity team of leaders.

IMPORTANT!

Please read the Classroom Mastery page of this newsletter. It contains our updated school rules and Uniform expectations.

I appreciate your support with these changes.

School Improvements

The refurbished Yr 3-6 toilets are well on the way with our builders working hard over the school holidays.

Our Foundation students (and teachers) will be happy to know that their new air conditioners have been installed and are ready to go!

A big thank you to Peter Sporn (Maintenance) for all his work over the break. The school looks great.

Easter Raffle

Thanks to everyone for donating and for buying raffle tickets. This year, we had over 30 prizes and raised over $2200, which will go towards our new senior playground.
