Our Service Team Goals for the Year 2025

As a team, we have identified several key team goals that will guide our work throughout the year. These goals not only aim to enhance our professional practices but also reflect our commitment to creating an environment that is positive, inclusive, and respectful. Here’s a closer look at our goals:

  1. Enhance Communication: We recognize the importance of clear and effective communication, so we’ve made a goal to enhance the use of various channels, including emails, WhatsApp, Post-it notes, and our kinder diary, to share important information. By being clear, concise, and respectful in our communication, we aim to avoid misunderstandings and keep everyone informed.

  2. Promote Positivity:

We are committed to fostering a positive work environment where team members smile, laugh, and bring an optimistic mindset to the workplace. Positive communication and interactions will be reinforced through small daily practices, contributing to a cheerful and supportive environment.

  3. Celebrate Cultural Diversity:

At Glen Bentleigh Kindergarten, we embrace the rich cultural diversity within our team. This year, we are focused on celebrating and learning from the diverse backgrounds that each team member brings. We will organize activities and events to highlight different cultures and ensure that inclusivity remains at the heart of everything we do.

  4. Celebrate Our Strengths:

We acknowledge that each of us brings unique strengths, interests, and areas of expertise. By respecting and appreciating these differences, we are able to reflect on our practice and enhance the learning opportunities we provide for the children. Recognizing these strengths also encourages open and honest professional relationships, which are essential for our teamwork and growth.

  5. Building Relationships with Each Other, the children, and our community:

Getting to know each other, the children, and our local community is fundamental to fostering trust and connection. As we spend more time with the children, we learn about their interests and needs, enabling us to create meaningful and responsive learning experiences. Additionally, we are committed to learning more about our local community so that we can celebrate its richness in our program.

How We Are Implementing These Goals

Throughout the year, we will be engaging in discussions that allow us to build on these goals. Some of the ways we are putting these goals into practice include:

  • Team-building: To promote positive relationships, we are planning team-building exercises that allow us to share experiences and celebrate each other’s strengths.

  • Cultural celebrations: We will be organizing events to celebrate the different cultures within our team and community, such as cultural days, storytelling sessions, and cooking experiences.

  • Communication practices: To enhance communication, we’ve established clear protocols for using various communication tools (emails, WhatsApp, etc.) to ensure that all important information is shared in a timely and effective manner.

    Family and Community Involvement

We encourage families to actively participate in the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment. There are several ways families can get involved, including:

  • Sharing cultural practices: We invite families to share their cultural traditions and stories, which enrich our curriculum and foster inclusivity.

  • Engaging in team celebrations: Families can participate in events and activities that celebrate our diverse community.

  • Providing feedback: We value the input of our families and encourage open communication so we can continue to improve the learning experience for the children.

Looking Ahead

We are excited to continue building on these goals throughout the term and are grateful for your support in helping us create a positive, inclusive, and connected community for everyone at Glen Bentleigh Kindergarten.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. We look forward to collaborating with you and celebrating the unique strengths of our children, families, and educators.
